The Saskatchewan Nurses Foundation administers the SORNG Memorial bursary on behalf of the Saskatchewan periOperative Registered Nurses Group (SORNG), reviewing applications for the bursary and selecting the recipient based on criteria established by the SORNG.
The SORNG Memorial Bursary exists to advance the education of a perioperative/OR Registered Nurse. Therefore applicants MUST be actively involved in perioperative/OR nursing and/or active SORNG members.
In addition to the information requested on the SNF application form, applicants for the SORNG Memorial bursary also need to identify the number of years they have been active in perioperative/OR nursing; work on healthcare committees; executive positions held in healthcare organizations; continuing education specific to perioperative/OR nursing; and articles published and/or educational presentations.
